Therefore, raster electronic charts are considered to be replicas of paper charts, which contain information such as shorelines, water depths, etc. that correspond one-to-one to paper charts. Raster electronic charts can also be connected to positioning sensors (such as GPS), but due to the limitations of the production principle of raster electronic charts, raster electronic charts cannot provide selective query and display functions (such as querying the features of a certain chart element, or hiding the features of a certain type of chart element, etc.). Raster electronic charts are referred to as "non intelligent electronic charts". At present, electronic charts are mainly based on vector electronic charts, while raster electronic charts are used as supplements in sea areas without vector electronic charts
