This standard specifies the chromaticity range and testing method for the color of light signals (including flashing signals). This standard applies to signal lights used in ocean, inland waterway, road, aviation, and railway transportation systems, including those used on ships, cars, planes, and trains. This standard also applies to signal lights and monitors on industrial control and monitoring instrument panels. This standard does not apply to the headlights and fog lights of automobiles. It is also not suitable for light sources with very low color temperatures used in maritime signal lights.
