A type of water pump in which both the impeller of the pump body and the motor driving the impeller are submerged in the water to work. There are two types of water pumps available: for deep wells and for working surfaces. The submersible electric pump used in deep wells supplies power to the motor through cables that extend into the well, eliminating the need for long shafts. Therefore, it has a compact structure, light weight, and is easy to install, use, and transfer. There is a trend to replace long shaft deep well pumps in areas with power supply, but it is not suitable for water wells with high sediment content and areas without power supply. The electric motors used for submersible pumps include dry type (all motors are sealed), semi dry type (the stator of the motor is sealed, and the rotor operates in water), oil filled type (the motor is filled with oil to prevent water from entering the winding), and wet type (the motor is filled with water, and both the stator and rotor operate in water). The first three types all require sealing and require high manufacturing and installation accuracy. Therefore, agricultural deep well submersible electric pumps usually use wet motors, and their stator windings are made of water resistant insulated wires or synthetic resin is poured into the ends and slots of the stator winding.
