Safety requirements for electrical equipment for measurement, control, and laboratory use - Part 1: General requirements - Scope and purpose -1.1 Scope -1.1.1 Equipment to which this part applies - This part of GB 479.3 specifies the general safety requirements for electrical equipment intended for professional use, industrial process use, and educational use. When used under environmental conditions of 1.4, Any of these devices that meet the definitions of a) - d) can be equipped with metering devices: a) Electrical testing and measuring equipment refers to equipment that uses electrical methods to test, measure, indicate, or record one or more electrical or non electrical quantities, as well as non measuring equipment such as signal generators, measurement standards, power supplies, transducers, and transmitters. Note: Except for panel instruments designed to be embedded only on other equipment, all electrical measuring instruments used for indication and recording (except for those in 1.1.2) are within the scope of GB 4793. Embedded panel instruments are considered essential and only need to comply with the relevant requirements of GB4793 or meet other standards as a component of the equipment embedded with these instruments. b) Electrical control equipment refers to a device that controls one or more output quantities at a specific maximum value, and each quantity value is manually set, locally or remotely programmed, or determined by one or more input variables. c) Electrical laboratory equipment refers to equipment used for measuring, indicating, monitoring, or analyzing substances, or for preparing materials, including in vitro diagnostic (IVD) equipment. This type of device can also be used outside the laboratory, such as IVD devices for self examination, which can be used in households

d) Accessories scheduled for use with the aforementioned equipment (such as sample processing equipment)
