1.1 Scope of Application This standard provides a recommended implementation method for developing procedures that can generate data to verify that Level 1E equipment can meet its performance requirements after a safe shutdown earthquake (or extreme safety earthquake site SSE) period after several operating reference earthquakes (or operating safety ground motion OBE). This (recommended) implementation method can be used to determine experiments or analyses that can yield data, to demonstrate equipment performance requirements, or as part of the entire qualification work to evaluate and verify the performance of sample devices and components. 1.2 Reference standards.
