This standard specifies the characteristics of porcelain or glass insulator string components (hereinafter referred to as insulators) for DC overhead power lines, as well as the conditions and acceptance criteria for checking the specified values of these characteristics. This standard specifies basic characteristic tests similar to GB/T 1001.1. To ensure the long-term performance of DC insulators, it is necessary to add some tests on this basis. At present, these additional tests only involve disc suspension insulators. This standard applies to insulators for DC overhead power lines with a nominal voltage higher than 1500 V. This standard is not applicable to composite insulators. This standard does not include insulator selection requirements or special tests under specific operating conditions, such as aging caused by specific operating conditions. Note 1: This standard does not include radio interference testing and insulator set testing. These issues and related test methods are discussed in GB/T 24623-2009 and GB/T 1001.2-2010. Note 2: For insulators used in DC traction lines, in addition to the requirements and tests of this standard, there are also some other test requirements, see GB/T 1001.1
