Scope
This standard specifies the applicable scope, conditions, terminology, ratings, design and structure, type testing, factory testing, selection guidelines, and safety requirements for high-voltage live display devices used in high-voltage electrical equipment This standard applies to live display devices used for indoor and outdoor high-voltage electrical equipment operating in power systems with a nominal voltage of 3kV and above and a frequency of 50 Hz The live display device is used to provide information on the voltage status of the main circuit at the installation site of high-voltage electrical equipment to operators Relying solely on the display of live display devices is not enough to prove that the system is in a dead state. If the operating program requires it to be dead, relevant voltage detectors that comply with IEC 61243 should also be used
This standard also applies to specially designed "phase recognizers" and "interlocking signal output units" used in conjunction with live display devices.
