This standard specifies the safety and hygiene requirements for slicers. This standard applies to movable slicers equipped with electric circular cutting blades with a diameter greater than 150 mm and reciprocating feed slides. They are generally used in shops, restaurants, supermarkets, and canteens. This type of slicing machine includes: - horizontal feed slicing machine (manual operation: see Figure 1; or automated operation: see Figure 13); - Gravity feed slicer (manual operation: see Figure 2 or automated operation). This standard is applicable to slicers produced after the implementation of this standard. This standard does not involve industrial slicers.
