Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, classification and marking, requirements and test methods, inspection rules and markings, packaging, transportation, and storage of unused mineral insulating oils p> This standard applies to unused mineral insulating oils containing and without additives obtained from petroleum distillates as raw materials for transformers, switches, and similar electrical equipment that require oil as insulation and heat transfer media. The oil used for generators can refer to this standard p> This standard does not include mineral insulating oils made from recycled oil p> This standard does not apply to mineral insulating oils used as impregnating agents in cables or capacitors p> Note: Oils that meet the requirements of this standard, have the same category, and do not contain any additives (see 3.3) are considered compatible and can be mixed in any proportion p> This may not necessarily apply to oils containing additives. When users wish to mix oil containing additives, it is recommended to conduct an inspection first to ensure that the mixture meets the requirements of this standard p>
