This section of LEC 61000 specifies the immunity requirements, testing methods, and recommended testing levels for equipment subject to damping oscillation magnetic disturbances related to medium and high voltage substations This standard does not specify interference caused by capacitive or inductive coupling in cables or other parts installed on site. IEC61000-4-18 deals with conducted interference and covers these aspects The purpose of this standard is to establish a universal and repeatable foundation for evaluating the performance of electrical and electronic equipment in medium and high voltage substations under the action of damped oscillating magnetic fields This test is mainly applicable to electronic devices installed in H.V. substations. Power plants, switchgear installation, and smart grid systems can also be applied to this standard and can be considered by the product committee
