Scope
This part of IEC 62660 specifies the performance and life testing of secondary lithium-ion batteries used for electric vehicle propulsion, including battery electric vehicles (BeVs) and hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) Note 1: Secondary lithium-ion batteries used for plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) propulsion can be tested through Bev or HEV applications according to agreements between battery manufacturers and customers This article provides a detailed introduction to the testing program for the basic characteristics of lithium-ion batteries used in automotive propulsion applications, including capacity, power density, energy density, storage life, and cycle life This document provides standard test procedures and conditions for testing the basic performance characteristics of lithium-ion batteries used in automotive propulsion applications, which are essential for ensuring basic performance levels and obtaining basic unit data for various designs of battery systems and battery packs Note 2: According to the agreement between the battery manufacturer and the customer, in addition to the conditions specified in this document, specific testing conditions can also be selected.
